1. Steel Framework Assembly: * Erect steel columns, beams, trusses, and girders according to engineering drawings. * Bolt, weld, or rivet components into position, ensuring alignment and structural integrity. 2. Blueprint Interpretation: * Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and specifications. * Plan assembly sequences and mark reference points for accurate placement. 3. Equipment Operation: * Operate cranes, hoists, and MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) to position steel components. * Use hand/power tools (e.g., spud wrenches, torque wrenches, welding gear). 4. Safety Compliance: * Follow Work at Height Regulations 2005, CDM 2015, and site-specific safety protocols. * Conduct risk assessments and use PPE (harnesses, helmets, steel-toe boots). 5. Quality Control: * Check steel components for defects (e.g., cracks, corrosion) before installation. * Ensure compliance with British/European standards (e.g., BS EN 1090 for steel fabrication). 6. Collaboration: * Work with crane operators, welders, and site managers to meet deadlines. * Report progress, delays, or safety concerns to supervisors. Skills and Qualifications 1. Mandatory Certifications: * CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) – required for site access. * CPCS/NPORS Card (for operating cranes or MEWPs, if applicable). * Welding Certifications (e.g., coded welder status for on-site welding tasks). 2. Experience: * Proven experience in steel erection, structural engineering, or construction. * Familiarity with steel grades (e.g., S355), connection types (bolted vs. welded), and load-bearing principles
