Our client is a specialist school for young people aged 11-16 with a diagnosis of autism. They are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) Assistant to join their welcoming and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong interest in communication and neurodiversity, who is looking to build a career in education or therapy.

About the Role:

As a SALT Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced Therapists and wider multidisciplinary team to support students in developing vital communication skills. You'll help deliver tailored interventions and strategies that empower their students to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

We’re Looking For:

  • A degree in speech and language therapy, psychology, education, or another related field.
  • A genuine interest in working in education, particularly supporting autistic students.
  • No prior experience in education is required - we provide outstanding CPD and training to help you grow in the role.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, flexible attitude and a commitment to inclusive practice.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the planning and delivery of 1:1 and group interventions.
  • Assist with assessments and progress tracking.
  • Prepare communication resources (e.g. visuals, social stories).
  • Work alongside teaching staff to embed communication strategies into the school day.
