Our client are one of the leading Building and Civil Engineering Contractors operating throughout the UK and Ireland. They are now seeking to recruit an experienced Site Supervisor with a civils/groundworks bias to join the team within their Construction Division.
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will preferably come from an engineering background or have a good understanding of engineering requirements.
- Candidates must have a proven track record of success in safe delivery of high quality, medium to large scale projects to budget and programme.
- Day to day duties and responsibilities will typically include but not be limited to:
- Assisting with overseeing the external works packages to completion, with a focus on coordinating and monitoring the works on site.
- Implementation of the QA process which will include regular liaison with the client/end user.
- Directing and supervising day to day operations of operatives and sub-contractors ensuring appliance of common operational procedures that comply with health and safety requirements.
- Ensuring material requisitions are issued in adequate time to stay within the constraints of the programme as well as managing the delivery.
- Ensuring a consistently high standard of work is produced in accordance with specification and quality standards through regular quality inspections.
- Ensuring works are carried out safely, fulfilling the health, safety and welfare responsibilities as detailed in the Company’s Policy Procedures.
- Liaising with the Project Manager and Site Colleagues regarding cost control, waste management, variations, and confirmation of instructions.
- Raising NCR’s for works undertaken that are of poor quality.
- Ensuring that sub-contractors compile and issue inspection and test plans (ITP’s) for various works packages, and that these are checked and closed out accordingly.
- Compiling snagging lists and managing the process for closing out.
- Understanding their duties and responsibilities with regards to current Health and Safety/CDM legislation, and the responsibilities of other parties, and ensuring compliance on each project.
- Undertaking the role of temporary works coordinator (where applicable).
- Ensuring labour only sub-contractors have been properly assessed for the tasks they are undertaking and that method statements and risk assessments are in place for them.
