On behalf of a fantastic Nursery in Catford, we are currently recruiting for a Room Leader in their Baby Room, joining a supportive and open employer. You will support the Level 3 Nursery Assistants with the management for your specific room and as such you will be a dynamic leader and supportive colleague.

This is a full time, permanent position working 40 hours/week with flexible shifts. They can offer 4 or 5 days per week, working 5x8 hour days, or 4 longer days with an extra day off. Salary starts at £30,000 per annum with great opportunities for progression within the organisation. Candidates looking to take a step up will be considered and the company provides excellent further training and development potential.

This purposely-designed Nursery offers a secure and engaging environment for early learning, featuring outdoor areas for imaginative play. The Nursery is easily accessible by excellent transport links. Catford train station is only a short 5 minutes’ walk away, and there are also multiple bus routes nearby.

Room Leader Key Duties, You will:
  • Overseeing the work of other nursery staff within your room, providing guidance, support, and training to the Nursery Assistants
  • Supervising the children in your room, ensuring they are safe and healthy at all times.
  • Plan and participate in activities to engage and teach the children, engaging and maintaining a stimulating environment
  • Observe children's progress and development, documenting their learning and making adjustments to the program as needed
  • Liaise with parents and your surrounding team members, monitor progress, keep records and reports, and communicate any suggested improvements that can be made to help the child’s development
Room Leader Skills and Experience
  • NVQ/CACHE Level 3 minimum
  • A good understanding and knowledge of EYFS and OFSTED standards
  • Ideally 2+ years’ experience of working in a nursery or similar early-years setting
