We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our clients dynamic construction team. As the Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the finances and costs of construction projects. Your expertise in forecasting, budgeting and cost management will be essential to ensuring the success and profitability of projects.
The candidate we are looking for is someone who’s enthusiastic about wanting to grow with the company and make a real career for themselves here. The ideal candidate will also need to understand and have a good working knowledge of the following:
- Preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
- Cost management
- Cost planning
- Cost reporting (CVR’s)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess progress, identify any potential cost issues, and make recommendations for improvements
- Ability to prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ)
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop cost-effective solutions
- Monthly valuations to the client
- Carrying out sub-contractor payments
- Preparing Monthly CVR reports
- Monitor and control project costs, budgets, and cash flow to ensure projects stay within budget and deadlines are met
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a quantity surveyor in construction (new build preferably, if you have refurbishment experience as well that would be favourable)
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent relationship skills
- Professional degree preferred but not essential
- A good attitude towards wanting to grow with the company as a key member of the team
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office software; we use “On screen take off”, preferred but not essential as training will be provided
