Time served Plater required for a very well respected client. Some of the sectors my client specialises in are Sub-sea oil & gas, Renewables, Nuclear, Rail, Defence, Civil engineering & Mining.

Hours: 06.45 – 15:15 Monday to Thursday. 06:45 – 14:15 Friday

Pay for a Plater Day Shift: £18.22/hour + Overtime (time + half)

Duties include:

  • Reading & Interpreting Drawings: Working with detailed engineering drawings to fabricate components accurately.
  • Structural Steel Plating: Cutting, shaping, and preparing steel plates for welding and assembly.
  • Assemble fabrication work and pass to welders for final assembly.
  • Using Manufacturing Tools: Operating fabrication machinery and hand tools to get the job done.
  • Precision Work: Ensuring all parts are cut, fitted, and aligned to spec before welding.

Qualifications required for Plater:

  • Time-served Fabricator/Plater via formal apprenticeship or relevant vocational training (NVQ, City & Guilds or BTEC Engineering qualification) – with valid certificate copy to be shown.

Pay: £18.22 per hour

Expected hours: 39 per week
