Our client is a leader in their field and due to continued growth are looking for an enthusiastic and able Industrial Trainee Pest Control Technician to join their team of Specialist Pest Controllers and Industrial Biologists to cover the Leeds area. The successful candidate will earn at least £25,500 depending upon pest control qualifications.
Working Hours:
- Usual working hours are 08:30 to 17:00 with 45 minutes lunch; however, pests do not always conform to normal working hours and some overtime work is occasionally necessary.
- They offer statutory holidays plus 20 days annually, with an increase to 25 days with continuation of service.
Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate should have a degree or further qualifications in a biological science or related subject.
- As a minimum, you must have RSPH Level 2 in Pest Management.
- Candidates without degrees will not be disqualified from the process but must be able to demonstrate a determination to progress and be willing to undertake the extensive study needed to gain further professional qualifications.
- You will be given extensive and continuous training to develop your skills and qualifications, with each qualification step rewarded by a salary increment.
- Your salary as a Certificated Field Technician will be (currently) £31,000. This process can take as little as 18 months for exceptional candidates, but will normally take between 2 and 3 years.
- You will need to be quick thinking, and able to communicate verbally and in writing to all levels of client staff from cleaner to Managing Director and be handy with a screwdriver.
- You will need to be computer literate, with experience in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- You will need to hold a clean and current UK driving license for manual vehicles, and be resident with permanent residency status in the Leeds area or be prepared to relocate.
- Your role will be to look after some industrial clients to ensure they become or remain pest free whilst at the same time advising them on environmental improvements.
- The range of pests and of work environments provides continual variation. This is a field position and is definitely not a lab-based role!
- Client needs often change and so our services need to adapt to these changes. There will be opportunities to develop the business for which we will pay you commission.
