Our client is looking to recruit a Part-time Receptionist for their busy surgery.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processing of medical records and data entry as per practice protocols
  • Processing of new registrations, making up new files
  • General filing
  • Prompt telephone answering, in a calm, positive, courteous and helpful manner
  • Booking of appointments for clinical colleagues according to practice policy
  • Accurately recording messages and communicating this information
  • Communicating results to patients ensuring the confidential nature of this information is protected at all times
  • Knowledge of relevant practice protocols and complaints procedure
  • Issuing of repeat prescriptions as per practice policy
  • To gain a thorough knowledge of the computer systems
  • General administration skills necessary for the smooth running of the Practice including appointment lists, answer phone, divert facility, operation of telephone system
  • Communicating with staff at all levels within the Practice and at hospitals as required in a courteous manner
  • Chaperoning as requested by a clinician and to support the patients of this practice

The afternoon surgery shift is 13.15-20.00 on Mondays, 13.15-18.30 Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. There is no regular weekend or bank holiday work. You may be asked to work some overtime to cover annual leave/sickness but this would be discussed in advance. This is a temp to perm role for the successful candidate.
