As Operations Manager, you will oversee a variety of civil engineering and earthworks projects from tender stage through to successful completion. This role offers the chance to work closely with senior management to develop operational strategies that support the company's ambitious growth targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project delivery, ensuring contracts are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Manage tender processes, including site visits, scoping, and reviewing construction details to ensure accurate costing and forecasting.
- Drive cost efficiencies by identifying solutions to reduce expenditure and improve profitability.
- Collaborate with the safety department to assess risks and ensure safe working practices across all projects.
- Provide leadership across the business, working with internal teams and external clients to ensure project success.
- Support the company's growth ambitions by strengthening client relationships and identifying new opportunities for expansion.
About You:
- Proven experience in managing civil engineering, groundworks, or bulk earthworks projects.
- Strong background in tendering, cost management, and contract negotiation.
- Excellent commercial acumen with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of building positive relationships with clients and teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint) and familiar with AutoCAD, LSS, or other 3D modelling systems.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or significant industry experience preferred.
