We are currently recruiting for an Oil Operative to work on manufacturing transformers, tap changer and repair units for 6+ months' work in Loughborough.
Mornings - 07:00 to 16:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:00 to 13:00 Friday
Afternoons - 16:00 to 01:00 Monday to Thursday, 12:00 to 18:00 Friday
Nights - 21:15 to 07:00 Monday to Thursday
The first 4-6 weeks will be flat day shifts whilst you complete training.
Pay Rates:
- Basic - £16.89 PAYE, £22.20 UMB (Includes 22% shift premium)
- Overtime - £22.46 PAYE, £29.75 UMB
- Saturday - £25.34 PAYE, £33.63 UMB
- Sunday - £33.78 PAYE, £45.06 UMB
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Understand transformer oil process in manufacturing environment.
- Able to handle different types of transformer oil of unprocessed and processed oil.
- Able to understand the operation of processing plant.
- Perform oil breakdown test and moisture content (ppm) of transformer oil (S2/S4/MIDEL/Uninhibited Oil).
- Perform the vacuum and oil filling activities in transformer tank with associate parts.
- Applying oil pressure on transformer tank.
- Operate all process machines such as crane, oven, oil filter machines, stud welding machines, etc.
- Help in touch up painting of transformer parts.
- Perform all activities at height.
- Able to fit temperature probes in radiators for heat run test as required.
- Perform oil operations through mobile pump unit.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to perform maintenance of oil processing plants, pump etc.
- Team and individual management of staff in accordance with company policy and procedure.

Qualifications & Functional Experience:
- Ideally hold an apprenticeship in fitting / oil handling job or any other fitting / oil handling experience.
- Experience of working in a specific discipline, or a specific environment, would be an advantage.
