We are looking to recruit on behalf of our client a Mechanical Site Supervisor to join their existing team on a permanent full-time basis.

JOB PURPOSE

  • To ensure compliance with company procedures, work instructions and other information that forms part of the integrated Management and Project Delivery Systems.
  • To ensure the timely installation, testing and commissioning of all mechanical equipment.
  • To liaise with Clients at Site Level to agree modes of operation and, where applicable, assist in the production of Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • To report progress against the agreed programme and any delays to the Project Manager.
  • To supervise and provide advice and guidance to the Site installations team.
  • To comply with all Health and Safety responsibilities as outlined in the Health and Safety Policies and Documentation.
  • To provide a site interface between the company, Customers, suppliers, and sub-contractors with respect to Installation plans and progress.
  • Ensuring plans yield least time and costs to meet customer and company requirements and specifications.
  • To assist or complete Project Daily Diary of events.

JOB ACTIVITIES

  • Oversee the activities of the designated Site installation team providing guidance, control and structure to the decision processes.
  • Ensure the resources available on site are managed to achieve the least cost option to satisfy project objectives.
  • To oversee the Site installation phase of projects, working closely and liaising with site personnel, customers, suppliers, sub-contractors and the company's associated departments.
  • Assist with the preparation of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Crane plans, Health Safety & Environmental documents, etc., to ensure compliance with current regulations and legislations.
  • Assist in site audits, inspections, surveys, pre-site visits and meetings for Installation aspects of all projects on behalf of the company.
  • Maintaining the Project Snag List with respect to Mechanical Installation, assist with generation and completion of site documentation.
  • Monitor materials and workmanship of Sub-Contractors to ensure the works installed are in accordance with the Approved Drawings, materials and specifications.

SUPERVISION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead by example on matters of Health Safety & Environmental, welfare and codes of conduct.
  • Identify and implement areas of improvement for Site working.
  • Work under his/her own initiative providing guidance and supervision of Site personnel.
  • Work to attain optimum performance within the Installations Department and associated areas of Site responsibility.
  • Responsible for the control of designated site resource including personnel welfare, Health & Safety and discipline on assigned projects.
  • Maximise the use of the company management control and IT systems to ensure accurate and auditable project control.
  • Reporting of designated site activities, progress, issues and concerns inclusive of a daily log.
  • Ensure that the Installations Manager/Engineers are informed of major developments and/or problems associated with assigned projects, supply chain and customers.
  • Providing permanent monitors and records of relevant issues.
  • Periodic audits of worksites, ensuring compliance with the company, Customer, and HSE process, in particular CDM and Permit control.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Essential
  • A minimum of two years site/installations experience.
  • Understanding and application of site Health Safety & Environmental requirements.
  • Good organisation and planning skills.
  • Proficient communication and administrative skills with an ability to interact with people at all levels.
  • Desirable
    • Lift Experience. (Rigger Marshaller, Lift Supervisor, Appointed Person)
    • Previous understanding of CDM regulations.
    • Safety Qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH).
    • First Aid at Work.
    • Previous experience as Site Supervisor/Manager (SSSTS, SMSTS) Project planning/reporting/management skill.

    The role is initially based in Heanor where the company main office is, however this will be working on projects that include digs and travel.
