We have a new permanent opportunity based in Tamworth to work for a key engineering client. As a Logistics Manager, you will work Monday to Thursday 06:45 – 16:45 and be on a competitive salary.
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily logistics operations to maximize efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure handover information is communicated to peers and production management.
- Escalate unavailable inventory for kitting for expediting and ensure suitable special arrangements are made for receipt.
- Manage inventory control through actively engaging in data capturing, audits, physical inventory, cycle counting, non-conformance, and slow-moving obsolescence material flow processes.
- Ensure cost-effective movement, storage, and processing of inventory by analysing and refining procedures to streamline processes and meet internal and external customer demands.
- Ensure 5S audits and improvement activities are carried out.
- Ensure inventory and team compliance with legislation, guidance notes, and health and safety policies.
Experience:
- Manufacturing inventory management.
- Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate 5S in the workplace.
- Basic PC literacy skills – Microsoft Office.
- An appreciation for hazard awareness (future scope for risk assessment training).
- An ability to work in a team/group environment.
Advantageous:
- Completion of a Train the Trainer or similar course.
- Understanding of problem-solving tools and techniques, e.g., 8D problem-solving tools.
- Working knowledge of business quality management systems or similar.
