Role Overview
As the Live-In Porter, you will play a key role in the daily upkeep, safety and smooth operation of the building. You’ll be a welcoming and reliable point of contact for residents, providing both practical support and a reassuring presence. This hands-on role involves a blend of front-of-house service, maintenance, and general building care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a warm, professional welcome to residents, visitors, and contractors.
- Act as the first point of contact for resident support and security needs.
- Ensure visitors are signed in and out appropriately.
- Manage and oversee the safe storage and use of building keys for maintenance and access needs.
- Monitor CCTV systems and actively maintain the building’s security.
- Report any security, Health & Safety issues, incidents, or complaints promptly, taking appropriate action when necessary.
- Collaborate with other on-site staff as required.
- Carry out daily cleaning tasks including hoovering, sweeping, polishing, and general upkeep of communal areas.
- Manage bin collection and disposal; maintain tidy refuse areas.
- Regular litter-picking around the premises.
- Assist with the receipt, sorting, and delivery of post and courier items.
- Use initiative to address day-to-day site issues and resolve minor problems.
- Report maintenance faults or damage to fixtures and fittings.
- Undertake light repair and decorating duties as needed.
- Replace light bulbs and carry out basic maintenance tasks.
- Conduct regular fire alarm tests in line with safety protocols.
- Monitor contractors on site to ensure adherence to standards and safety practices.
- Support with ad hoc tasks as directed by management.
