Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily running of the science prep room, including the management of equipment and materials across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
- Lead and support a team of science technicians, ensuring smooth delivery of practical science lessons.
- Prepare and set up equipment for practical experiments in line with the curriculum.
- Ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Liaise with teaching staff to support the development and delivery of engaging science lessons.
- Manage stock levels, ordering supplies as necessary, and keeping accurate inventories.
- Maintain and service equipment, reporting and arranging for repairs where required.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Senior or Lead Science Technician in a school environment is essential.
- Strong understanding of health & safety protocols in a laboratory setting.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Confident in supporting a busy science department across all disciplines.
- A valid, enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service is essential.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
