Service Care Solutions are recruiting for an Independent Prescriber to work in the Sheffield area for a Substance Misuse Service. Pay up to £43.75 PAYE Per Hour - Exclusive of Holiday Pay, £49.03 PAYE Per Hour - Inclusive of Holiday Pay, £56 Umbrella rate Per Hour. Temporary contract, 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri. Onsite role and not remote.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Independent Prescriber to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced clinical skills, a strong knowledge of pharmacology, and the ability to autonomously assess, diagnose, and manage patient care. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes and ensure the highest standards of care.
Key Requirements:
- Independent Prescriber qualification
- RCGP Qualifications Level 1 (and 2 or willingness to work towards)
- Experience of working within substance misuse (desirable)
The service you would work for are one of the largest complex integrated treatment services in England. We operate an MDT model and there is real opportunity to work within a fantastic supportive team, including a mental health nurse offering specific interventions to support people, making a real difference to the lives of those in our community. They have a strong ethos around staff development, with protected CPD time being offered, as well as individual and group supervision. All clinical services are supported by an experienced and dynamic multidisciplinary central clinical department.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Clinical assessment with or without prescribing a range of medications (including controlled drugs) to support recovery in line with national and organisational guidelines and policies.
- Prescribe cost effectively and according to best practice and provide prescribing information and advice to Pharmacists, Shared Care GPs and hospital staff.
- Undertake Service User centred assessments, care planning, monitoring, evaluation and reviews in practice and outreach settings.
- Blood Borne Virus (BBV) management (risk assessment, pre and post-test counselling, testing and immunisation).
