BDS are recruiting for an experienced Housing Management worker, working with a social justice charity providing housing related support to vulnerable adults and families 18+

About the role:

  • The working hours will be Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, covering a caseload of around 22 properties in the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire area.
  • Hybrid working: you will be in the office in Derby DE1 on a Wednesday; the rest of the week is hybrid and involves client/property visits.
  • Directly supporting tenants to manage their tenancy, assisting them with housing benefit claims, and signposting them to relevant support services while liaising with support services where required.
  • Conducting initial and regular assessments of the potential or actual service user including any risks, their needs, and requirements in respect of the service, to determine eligibility for the service and taking necessary action where required.
  • Working with the Housing Management Team to ensure the correct tenancies are issued, signing up new tenancies, and ensuring the service user understands and accepts tenancy obligations.
  • Be involved in ordering furniture and goods for the property.
  • Work closely with the Asset Management team to ensure property standards are maintained, repairs are reported in a timely way, and ensuring the properties are suitable for letting and safe occupation.
  • Maximise rent collection and adhere to the arrears management policy and procedure.

Pay: £13.17 per hour PAYE / £17.21 per hour UMB

About you:

You will need to have experience in supporting clients with their tenancies, applying for benefits, and signposting information.

Requirements:

  • You will need to be a driver with access to a car with correct business insurance.
  • You will need an enhanced Adult and Child DBS in place, less than 8 months old or registered on the update service.
  • We are unable to process any applications without the above requirements.
