Job Purpose: To operate a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) as part of a refuse collection team, carrying out the safe and efficient collection of household, recycling, commercial, and garden waste. You will also be required to assist with loading duties when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and operate an HGV refuse collection vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
- Collect and dispose of waste and recycling from domestic and commercial properties.
- Ensure compliance with all traffic and road regulations.
- Assist loaders with waste collection duties when needed.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate records and logs as required.
- Communicate effectively with the public, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure the safety of yourself, team members, and the public.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or hazards promptly.
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the vehicle.

Essential Requirements:
- Valid UK HGV Category C (Class 2) driving licence.
