Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with suppliers for all aspects relating to the business
  • Coordination of promotional activity
  • Negotiation of pricing and promotional funding
  • Pricing and margin management
  • Range management
  • Analysis of sales, suppliers and market trends
  • Placing orders for all depots using sound commercial reasoning and influence to ensure maximum availability and prices
  • Order placement
  • Management of stockholding
  • Exercise influence over suppliers where there are shortages of stock
  • Ensure certain tasks are completed in a timely manner with a high level of attention to detail
  • Proofing promotional brochures for correct imagery, pricing and PORs
  • Tracking and claiming retrospective monies from suppliers for supplier funded promotions
  • Liaising with depots and other internal departments in regard to category matters

  • Passion for Buying, Sales or Category Management
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally using effective influencing skills
  • A strong and effective negotiator
  • Quick learner that is proactive
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
