About the Company & Role: Our client is a specialist air cargo ground handling company, offering warehousing and freight handling services from their modern, purpose-built facilities. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee their air cargo handling team, manage aircraft movements, and ensure the smooth running of daily operations. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on efficiency, safety, and excellent service.
Responsibilities:
- Manage air charter aircraft and cargo handling operations, including import/export processes.
- Supervise warehouse and airside teams, ensuring safe, efficient cargo flow.
- Coordinate with airline reps, freight forwarders, customs, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee proper use of equipment and ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Maintain compliance with aviation safety and security regulations.
- Monitor service levels and handle any operational issues or delays.
- Lead and motivate operational staff, including rota planning and task delegation.
- Ensure all cargo documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Act as main point of contact for customer queries and service issues.
- Monitor operational costs and support budgeting and reporting processes.
- Drive continuous improvements in service, safety, and efficiency.
Requirements:
- Experience in air cargo handling or freight operations.
- Strong knowledge of air cargo procedures, customs, and warehouse operations.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational needs.

Remuneration:
- Basic salary of £40,000
- On Target Earnings up to £50,000
- 20 days holiday rising one each year up to five plus bank holidays
