An exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join a well-established business within the Manufacturing sector that sells their products via a variety of channels including Retail, Wholesale and Industrial. This business is a genuine leader within their sector and offers a fun, dynamic and interesting workplace.
The Finance Manager will support the Finance Director and assist with a wide range of duties including statutory and management reporting including year-end, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
Duties of the role will include:
- Assist with the production of month-end accounts and quarterly forecasts, offering insight and analysis and prepare/submit quarterly HMRC VAT returns.
- Oversee monthly payment runs and perform reconciliations to ensure accounts are kept up to date.
- Preparation of forecasts and budgets and reporting monthly on variances.
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Credit Control and Debtor Analysis, ensuring the team are following correct procedures in line with company policies.
- Manage cash flow, including forecasting cash requirements, monitoring liquidity, and optimizing cash utilization to support ongoing operations and investment activities.
- Evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in financial reporting and analysis.
- Support the Finance Director on strategic plans and projects.
- Support Departmental Heads with financial and sales analysis including gross margin and overhead analysis.
- Work closely with the Finance Director on monthly management accounting tasks including stock reconciliation and reporting, prepayments and accruals and cash flow forecasting.
- Assist the Finance Director with preparation of consolidated interim and year-end financial statements.
The Person:
- 2+ years relevant finance experience and possibly qualified although not essential (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager role, possibly in the Manufacturing sector.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Able to manage and motivate a small team.
- Office based – Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
