We are a dynamic and growing company based in Coventry, dedicated to delivering high-quality products and services to our clients. As we expand, we are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support our finance team and contribute to the smooth operation of our financial processes.

The Finance Assistant will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will assist with financial record-keeping, invoicing, reconciliations, and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation and processing of invoices, purchase orders, and payments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations
  • Support month-end and year-end financial close processes
  • Assist with VAT returns and other statutory reporting requirements
  • Manage petty cash and staff expense claims
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve invoice queries
  • Assist with payroll preparation and data entry
  • Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc financial tasks and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a finance or accounts assistant role
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
