The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our NHS medical glaucoma service, providing both clinical and surgical assistance. This position requires a compassionate professional with a deep understanding of glaucoma management and patient care. Key Responsibilities: – Diagnose, evaluate and manage patients with existing and undiagnosed glaucoma along with other ocular conditions. – Perform diagnostic tests and procedures such as visual field assessments, optical coherence tomography (OCT), volk, CCT and gonioscopy. – Provide management plans for existing Glaucoma referrals – Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients. – Collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans. – Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to service development initiatives. – Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. – Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding glaucoma management and treatment options. What You'll Need – Medical degree from a recognized university – Valid GMC registration with a license to practice in UK – Experience in ophthalmology, particularly in managing glaucoma cases and ability to work independently – UK NHS Glaucoma clinic experience – Gonioscopy experience – SLT laser experience – Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills. – Strong communication and interpersonal skills. – Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
