We are partnering with a global manufacturer and leader in imaging and document solutions that is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their growing Service Department.
The Role
In this field-based role, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of high-end print-on-demand equipment and software, ensuring top-level performance and customer satisfaction. This position involves extensive travel, primarily across the Midlands and South, and occasionally further afield based on workload. You’ll also help with end-user installs and training, provide technical support, and play a key role in troubleshooting and escalating issues when required.
We are particularly interested in engineers that have worked with toner-based production print equipment such as Xerox Iridesse, Xerox Versant, Canon imagePRESS, Konica Minolta AccurioPress, Ricoh Pro Series, HP Indigo 7800/12000, Sharp Pro Series or similar.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and maintain a range of production print equipment and software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer-reported technical issues, both remotely and on-site.
- Monitor remote diagnostic tools to pre-empt issues and schedule proactive maintenance.
- Coordinate installations with internal teams to ensure smooth deployment.
- Keep service agents updated with the latest technical bulletins and firmware updates.
- Escalate unresolved issues to technical specialists or management as required.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and maintain confidentiality.
About You:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role as a field service engineer on digital / toner-based print production equipment.
- Strong electro-mechanical fault-finding skills.
- HNC in mechanical/electrical engineering or industry equivalent experience.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and travel extensively across South and Midlands region, with occasional travel further afield when required.
- A valid UK driving licence is essential.
