SSA are currently recruiting for a Civil Engineering & Water contractor who are looking to add an experienced Design Manager to their team working primarily on their Clean & Waste Water projects, as well as their tunnelling, rail and wider infrastructure schemes. The projects can range from non-infrastructure (treatment works upgrades/pumping stations etc), through to infrastructure schemes such as developer services, mains-replacement, flood alleviation, tunnelling, drainage etc. They are also involved in a number of Rail and Energy projects across the UK.

Duties will include:

  • Define the overall design and production strategy and ensure it delivers on expectations, in collaboration with operational, programming, & estimating teams
  • Managing design information throughout the project lifecycle – from the feasibility stage, to outline and detail design
  • Resource Management, recruitment and on-boarding of design staff
  • Design team competency assurance and coordination of training needs
  • Directly managing subcontract resource to produce design outputs compliant with client’s specifications and standards

Essential

  • Experience in Design within civils or water
  • Degree qualified or equivalent
  • Chartered Engineer (desired)
