Informa Tech is seeking an Accountant to join their Finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, they will play a crucial role in the month end close for our global accounts, prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations, assist with SOX compliance, footnote disclosures and account analysis.
Essential Job Functions:
- Complete month and quarter end close tasks in accordance with close schedule, prepare and review audit schedules and assist with analyzing variances to forecast for certain expenses.
- Support accounting manager by reviewing and approving monthly journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
- Reconcile the more complex general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Preparation of departmental reports for submission to company management.
- Prepare accruals and or adjusting entries based on analysis.
- Oversee benefits accounting including expense and accrual levels, as well as monthly benefit allocation entries.
- Assist in the preparation of financial information schedules in support of internal and external audits as well as SEC reporting.
- Review cash postings processed by Staff Accountant.
- Assist with any other needs of the accounting manager in daily Accounting functions; and, Ad-hoc projects, as requested.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- 3 - 5 years of accounting experience in public company.
- Part Qualified - ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Thorough understanding of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) including experience in a multi-currency environment.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
