Our client is a leading Technology company looking for 1st & 2nd Support Engineer. Some travel will be required, candidate must hold a valid UK Driving Licence.
Responsibilities:
- 1st line and some 2nd line support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve common IT issues such as password resets, software installations, and basic hardware malfunctions.
- Escalate more complex issues to more senior members of the IT team as required.
- Setup and configure new hardware and software for users.
- Perform regular IT operations and maintenance tasks to ensure system stability and security.
- Actively develop technical skills under senior staff’s mentorship.
- Assist in ensuring all departmental documentation is kept up to date.
- Assist in IT equipment inventory management and reporting.
Skills Required:
- Windows 10 / 11 administration
- Knowledge of M365 / Teams
- Physical hardware management including laptop provisioning
- Basic networking and patching
- An understanding of cybersecurity best practices
- The ability to communicate with staff members at all levels of the business
Other useful, but not essential, experience:
- VMWare vSphere
- Microsoft Exchange (on-prem)
- Cisco networking
- Knowledge of backup technologies
- Associated certifications will be of great interest e.g. (VCP, MCSE, CCNA etc.)
- RHEL or other Linux
