Do you have experience of Sales Office Administration within a Technical or Engineering environment? Perhaps you have been an Engineer or Plumber and no longer want to be on the tools? My Client is a small manufacturing company based in Hitchin who is looking for someone to do a Technical Sales Admin role. Whilst this job will be office-based, you will also be expected to liaise with the Engineers on the shop floor to seek out their expertise when handling customer queries. You will be working in a small friendly team and will enjoy engaging with people on the phone and have a resourceful and technical mindset. This skill is essential as some of the questions from customers can be very challenging if you are not from an engineering or technical background. Proven experience in either a production or manufacturing environment is a distinct advantage accompanied with a technical head on your shoulders and a helpful telephone manner.
Duties will include:
- Sales Order Processing
- Answering price enquiries
- Following up on quotations and exploiting new business opportunities
- Dealing with Couriers/ETAs

- Recommending products in line with customer’s needs
- Liaising with internal members of staff
- Co-ordinating urgent product deliveries
- Handing returns of faulty or unwanted products
- Dealing with purchase ledger invoicing and statements
Rest assured this is not a sales role however you will work closely with the Business Development Manager to enhance the level of service and create new openings for the BDM to explore. If you’re keen to hear more, please email your CV to Lynn Higginson-Carter.
