SThree are pleased to announce that we are recruiting for a talented Sales Ledger Clerk to join our team! This role will be on a permanent basis.
The primary function of a Sales Ledger Clerk is to accurately clear down and allocate monies received into the company's bank accounts to the respective Client, Vendor or GL accounts. As a support function employee, it is important to be methodical and have excellent attention to detail skills to mitigate the risk of financial misstatement. Basic accounting principles are of the essence for accurate, high volume transactional processing and reconciliation.
The Sales Ledger Clerk's day-to-day responsibilities are to:
- Download all bank statements required for daily postings to the relevant accounts
- Allocate payments to client invoices, client accounts, GL accounts or vendor accounts
- Unallocated cash management
- Account reconciliation
- Oversight of client refunds
- Query resolution and troubleshooting
- Intercompany posting
What skills and knowledge are we looking for?
- Basic knowledge of accounting (double entry book-keeping)
- High volume transaction processing
- Dealing with multi-currency
- Good working knowledge of excel
- Speed and accuracy are essential to meet deadlines and prevent misstatement of accounts
- Ability to work with other internal departments to allocate cash not related to customers
- Ability to act on discretion is key
