Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people in care, ensuring their needs are met in line with legal and statutory requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review care plans, pathway plans, and personal education plans to support the best possible outcomes for looked-after children.
  • Conduct statutory visits, risk assessments, and permanency planning to ensure children are placed in stable, nurturing environments.
  • Work closely with foster carers, residential care providers, schools, health professionals, and other agencies to support children's emotional, educational, and social development.
  • Prepare and present reports for court proceedings, care reviews, and other legal processes related to looked-after children.
  • Advocate for children's needs and rights, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making.
  • Support children and young people in transitioning out of care to independent living or reunification with family where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with statutory guidelines.
