Futures have been engaged to find a Production Manager for a plastics manufacturer in the Oldham area. They’ve embarked on a Continuous Improvement journey and are being supported by experienced Consultants onsite. Initially, the Production Manager will work with the team on implementation of revised and new processes and act as coach and mentor of team Leaders looking after over 50 staff working on a shift basis.

The products are medium volume low-margin and produced utilising both Injection and Compression Moulding techniques. You will be a professional Production Manager with experience of Injection moulding and hopefully compression moulding although you should be able to learn this process.

You’ll be able to produce a robust plan to deliver the customers’ requirements and be able to see a couple of weeks ahead. This will include tooling and manning with an overview of materials. You’ll set up KPIs for all key processes and review management information to ensure output is in line with forecasts, so you’ll need sound scheduling skills. You’ll also hire new staff in line with production needs.
