Are you a Process Engineer with experience working in a process or chemical plant environment involving High Pressure Systems? Are you now looking for an exciting new challenge while significantly developing your skillset in the renewable energy sector and being able to leave your mark on innovative cutting edge projects for the green Hydrogen industry?

This organisation has a strong focus on the ocean energy development sector as well as other areas such as green hydrogen, floating offshore wind and other clean energy systems. They have already seen significant positive developments in their research projects with plans to keep heading in this direction.

In this role you will be the team leader and responsible for hydrogen production and fuelling infrastructure. This will also involve supporting the design, development, operation, safety and continuous improvement of hydrogen production. In addition to this, you will engage in the companies hydrogen R&D projects while being the first point of contact for troubleshooting efforts and providing guidance on the overall system operation.

The ideal candidate will be degree educated in a chemical, process, industrial or engineering discipline while coming from a process or chemical plant environment involving High Pressure Systems and now looking to join a role that has high responsibility with the opportunity to develop and implement their own ideas to help grow the team.

The Role:

  • Relocation to Orkney OR happy to work on a hybrid basis.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the companies hydrogen plant and equipment including process design documents such as PFDs, process calculations and P&IDs.
  • Take responsibility for correct specification of hydrogen process plant equipment and identify suppliers.
  • Perform design failure mode and effect analysis and specify critical balance of plant components for hydrogen generating, compressing, storing and dispensing systems.

The Person:

  • Experience in a process or chemical plant environment involving High Pressure Systems.
  • Experience working on gas processing and/or dispensing equipment in the oil and gas industry (desirable).
  • Willing to relocate to Orkney or travel to and from (hybrid basis).
