We are delighted to announce that due to an increase in work, we have created a new opportunity for a private client solicitor to work within our regarded private client team. This role would be ideal for a qualified solicitor with 3yrs+ PQE to provide legal advice and assistance related to estate planning, will drafting and managing the administration of estates. You will handle various tasks including preparing wills, administering estates, applying for probate and advising on inheritance tax and trusts. Role summary: Will Preparation – drafting and advising on the creation of wills, including those incorporating trusts for complex family situations. Estate Administration – managing the process of distributing the deceased's assets, settling debts, and paying taxes. Probate Applications – applying for and obtaining the Grant of Probate. Trust Administration – setting up and managing trusts, including advising on tax implications and distribution of assets. Inheritance Tax Planning – advising on strategies to minimise inheritance tax liabilities, both during estate planning and after a person's death. Power of Attorney – preparing and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney for financial and healthcare decisions. Client Communication – communicating clearly and empathetically with clients, executors, beneficiaries, and other professionals involved in estate administration. Financial Management – understanding and managing estate finances, including collecting assets, paying debts, and distributing inheritance. Legal Expertise – possessing a strong knowledge of wills, trusts, probate, inheritance tax, and estate planning laws. Personal qualities include: empathy and patience – dealing with sensitive matters and grieving clients requires empathy and patience organisational skills – managing multiple cases and keeping detailed records is crucial communication skills – clearly explaining complex legal concepts to clients and other professionals is essential problem-solving skills – identifying and resolving issues that arise during estate administration business development and networking with clients to generate new business Membership in the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) is an advantage For more information, please contact Layla Jackson at Lawfront
