Our Client, a rapidly growing SME within the Mechanical Services industry, is currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join their team.
The head office is based in West London, with contracts & projects across London and the surrounding Home Counties.
This role reports into the Director.
As the Contracts Manager, you will be required to manage and deliver on more than one installation project with values in excess of £200K. The majority of the contracts are retrofit & refurb projects within Local Authority and Central Government. Exposure & experience with these types of contracts is essential.
The candidate will need to be able to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that all Projects are delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality & regulative standards.
- To manage and periodically review the Projects cost flows against Budget and manage any phased payment terms and or variation order processes.
- Identifying and highlighting any risks, ensuring that these are eliminated at the first instance.
- Communicating effectively at all times within the Business, across the workforce, Clients, suppliers and those affected by the works.
- Manage Contract or Project expectations with the Client.
- Attending and maintaining notes and records of any meetings relevant to the Projects, either on site or in offices.
- Managing all deliverables in line with the scope of works.
Skills & Experience
- Educated to HNC/HND/Degree level in Mechanical discipline (desired).
- Demonstrable experience working as a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Contracts Manager from within the building services industry is essential. Working within Local authority contracts would be ideal.
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification SMSTS (required) and IOSH/NEBOSH (desired).
- Experience of delivering projects as the Mechanical Contractor.
- Experience in managing Client expectations.
- Excellent working knowledge of all MS Office applications.
