Our client is a very successful and established manufacturing business and Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Managing Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, control and improvement of a large manufacturing business who supply products for the construction sector. The Role: Reporting to the shareholders the Managing Director will be responsible for the delivery of strategic sales and operational targets of £multi-million manufacturing company who supply the construction industry both in the UK and internationally. Managing the the team of directors you will take the lead in driving continuous improvement and enabling strategic plans to deliver business growth. Your duties will include: – Management and control of manufacturing, sales , operations and logistics functions. Identify opportunities for and implement actions to improve manufacturing processes, sales, production, lead times and product quality etc etc Ensure effective fiscal control of all budget responsibilities Develop and expand continuous improvement culture throughout the business Review supply chain and procurement functions and negotiate cost reductions Lead regular performance review meetings and report to the board of directors Ensure legal compliance throughout the business.Candidate: The successful candidate will be an experienced Managing Director with previous manufacturing experience. Ideally applicants will demonstrate previous success in delivering strategic goals for a large manufacturing business. Ideally you will have previous director level experience in the fabrication, assembly or bespoke manufacturing (metals, wood, composites) sectors.
