GSL Education is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a high-achieving secondary school in York. This is a full-time role supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with Autism (ASC), ADHD, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The role will include academic, social and emotional support.

About the Role as a Learning Support Assistant:

  • Support students 1:1 and in small groups to help them access the curriculum.
  • Work closely with the SEND department, assisting with personalised learning plans.
  • Provide classroom support, ensuring an inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students develop social skills, confidence, and independence.
  • Work alongside teachers and SENCOs to monitor progress and adapt support strategies.

  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to learning support.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
