We are recruiting for an HSE Officer to join a leading engineering company based in Huddersfield. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the UK HSE Department, ensuring that all Health, Safety, and Environmental standards are consistently upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the UK HSE Lead to implement and review Health and Safety policies.
- Conduct risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and ensure new machinery is introduced safely.
- Collaborate with team leaders and shop floor employees to promote a strong HSE culture.
- Assist in internal audits and external (LRQA) audits.
- Support in accident reporting, near-miss documentation, and delivery of training sessions.
- Ensure that all contractors on site meet compliance standards before work begins.
- Maintain oversight of health and safety inspections, assessments, and compliance activities such as LOLER, PAT, Legionella, and more.
Requirements:
- A background in heavy engineering is highly desirable.
- IOSH Managing Safely and NEBOSH certification (or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
