Health & Safety Advisor

Health & Safety Advisor Portsmouth Civil Engineering We have a requirement for a Health & Safety Advisor to join an existing project team on an exciting major project in Hampshire. The scheme value is in access of £300m and involves major earthworks and Reinforced concrete packages. This role requires the Health and Safety Advisor to be based on site 5 days a week to support and advise the project teams, ensuring health, safety risks, hazards are identified. This position requires a start ASAP and can be employed on a day rate or salary basis. Key duties: * Engage with teams to communicate health and safety requirements and gain feedback on improvements/ concerns. * Monitor the adequacy of health and safety controls, including competency checks, document reviews, audits, and site inspections, * Conduct and review assurance and incident investigations to identify root causes and prevent reoccurrence. * Provide written competent expert specialist advice and reports to all questions asked on HSW matters from management to employees. * Assist the Group HESQ Manager in maintaining & developing the company’s Integrated Management System. Qualifications and certification * NEBOSH Construction a minimum & working towards Diploma or NVQ Level 6 equivalent (desirable) * Must be CertIOSH minimum working towards CMIOSH (Essential) * CSCS card – Manager or Academically Qualified (Essential) * SEATS – Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme (Desirable) Please feel free to get in touch with any questions about the project or job role
