Head of Year – Manchester – ASAP start We are delighted to be working in partnership with a Head teacher, who is looking to secure the services of a behavioural-focused pastoral worker, on a long-term supply basis as a head of year. This position will be on a full time basis and is to start as soon as possible, and will be on an ongoing basis. You may be an experienced, confident TA who is currently available. You may be confident and calm when dealing with extremely challenging behaviour, and be looking for a different challenge in your day. The role of “on call” is to respond quickly to flare-ups of disruption in classrooms – you will be responding to calls from teachers from all over the school – so you will definitely get your steps in! Your primary role will be to intervene and de-escalate negative behaviour, at the request of the teachers you are supporting. To be truly effective in this role, you must be calm, adaptable and overall, an outstanding communicator! If you have some experience of “on call” pastoral support, this would be advantageous but not essential. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS Location: Manchester Position: Head of Year Type of work: Teaching Support Start date: ASAP Duration: ongoing Full time: Monday to Friday, five days per week Minimum rate of pay: £115 per day Hours: 8am – 4pm EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS Degree educated with a good classification, OR Previous experience of working with young people (which we can reference) Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, training can be provided) Up to date Prevent awareness training in the last 3 years (essential, training can be provided) Up to date Behaviour management training (desirable, however, training can be provided) Experience of providing interventions with challenging behavioural issues TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide two professional child related references covering at least the last 2 years If you would like to be considered for this role, please apply with a copy of your up to date CV.
