The School and Role
We are working with a forward-thinking MAT school in Havering who are seeking a motivated Head of Religious Studies. Based in a rural area of East London, this school was rated ‘Good’ by OFSTED in 2022 and offers fantastic state of the art facilities for staff and students. The school is looking for a dynamic Head of Religious Studies to lead an established department that offers a high uptake of students at GCSE.
As a Head of Religious Studies, you will be responsible for managing and developing the Humanities curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning, and providing leadership and support to the department’s staff. You will inspire students to develop a strong understanding of business concepts and prepare them for success in both their academic and professional futures.
This is a permanent Head of Religious Studies position, starting in Easter 2025. Applicants must have valid UK QTS and at least 3 years teaching experience is desirable.
Requirements
- Lead, manage, and support the Humanities department, ensuring the highest quality of teaching and learning.
- Develop, review, and improve the Humanities curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of students and aligns with school goals.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff, and support the pastoral needs of students.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring targets are met and all students are supported to achieve their full potential.
