We have a fantastic opportunity for someone that craves technical challenges and has an interest in technology, electronics, and a passion for cars to join our Research and Development Team. We are based conveniently between Nottingham and Derby centres, nestled on the entrance to one of the region's finest country parks (Shipley Country Park), boasting 700 acres of beautiful landscape popular for relaxed café dining, walking, fishing, biking and horse-riding.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the continuous failure mode development of legacy products. The day to day will involve:

  • Follow wiring diagrams and pin data to power up ECUs on the bench and test specific circuits and functions.
  • Analysis of ECUs (electronic control units) and their PCBAs (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies) to discover the cause of electronic faults and to enact repairs where possible.
  • Creating technical documentation.
  • Closing looping of information into SOP and training of technicians.

Essential skills & experience:

  • Experience in electronic fault finding to component level and PCB rework methods.
  • Experience in electronic schematic/wiring diagram drawings.
  • Root cause analysis of PCBs.

Desirable skills & experience:

  • Well organised with a methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Team player with excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and experience of automotive operations, electronics, and communication protocols.
