Our client, a leading manufacturing client based in Newcastle, are looking to recruit an Electrical Technician to join the business on a permanent basis due to business growth. The successful candidates will be required to assemble and test Electrical / Electronic components used in sub assemblies and final build. Candidates will ideally be electrically trained with demonstrable experience in reading Electrical Schematics, panel wiring, soldering, crimping and terminating cabling. Hours: Monday – Thursday – 6:30am to 3:00pm / Friday – 6:30am – 12:00pm. Any OT worked over 37 hours per week are paid at premium rates to boost earnings. Average of 15 - 20 hours per month available.
Key Responsibilities:- Assemble electronic/electrical sub assemblies from schematic diagrams, drawings or verbal instructions and following works order instructions to ISO9001 standards.
- Wire and solder wiring harness and cable assemblies, transformer assemblies, control consoles, connectors, etc.
- Perform limited troubleshooting and testing of assemblies.
- Ensures assembly/sub-assembly build times are met to maintain department efficiency target of 100%.
- Ensures assembly/sub assembly build times are met for major project schedule.
- Complete all necessary documentation according to the requirements, (including timesheets, ECN etc.).
- Carry out job tasks safely using good working practices.
- Carry out all assembly work to the required department quality standards.
- Ideally candidates will be Time Served in an electrical discipline.
- A good understanding of electrical/electronic systems essential.
- Technical competence in Low voltage AC/DC panel wiring/looming, High voltage installations.
- Control/Data systems and Fibre Optic handling/termination (Advantageous).
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings and sketches.
