Location: Guinea Lane Nursery, BA1 5NB

Salary: ÂŁ23,400 - ÂŁ29,016 DOE and qualification

Contract: Full time, Permanent. 36 hours per week over 4 days (Monday – Friday). 1 rolling day off per week, long weekend (Friday & Monday off) every 4/5 weeks.

We are currently recruiting an experienced and dynamic Early Years Practitioner to join us in our beautiful nursery in the heart of Bath. We are looking for practitioners who have the passion, enthusiasm and professional skills to work within a team of early years practitioners in delivering a play-based curriculum that supports each child’s learning and development. The successful candidate(s) will help shape and lead the high-quality childcare and education that we provide for the families who attend our nurseries.

The responsibilities of an Early Years Practitioner:

  • To act as a key person for a group of children, taking responsibility for all aspects of children’s safety, emotional well-being and learning and development.
  • Working with children under the age of 2 years old.
  • Build relationships with the child’s parents/guardians/carers and others who are important in the student’s life.
  • Work with the senior team and regional SENDCO to continuously improve the quality of childcare and education.
  • Support the development of good practice in regard to the inclusion of children with additional needs and/or disabilities into nursery life.
  • Adhere to the nursery's child protection policy and procedures to ensure that all the children have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
  • Conduct effective child protection and safeguarding and continue to be aware of the responsibility to ensure areas of concern for a child are addressed and dealt with.
  • Understand and continually follow Child Protection Procedures.
  • Support the children to develop a positive attitude to food and healthy lifestyles.
  • Proactively include children at mealtimes to create a social occasion and inclusion that promotes social and emotional development.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Possess level 2, 3 or above (Full and relevant as defined by DFE).
  • Experience working with children with additional needs would be desirable.
  • Experience working with children under the age of 2 years old would be desirable.
  • Have a passionate enthusiasm for Early Years and motivation to continue your professional development.
