Position: Compliance Engineer – ATEX / IECEX Location: Ashton Under Lyne Salary: £35,000 – £65,000 Are you a Compliance Engineer with a strong understanding of ATEX and IECEX standards? Do you have experience ensuring products meet stringent international safety requirements? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team! We are a leading company that designs and develops explosion systems for the demolition of high-rise buildings. We are looking for a skilled Compliance Engineer to ensure that our products meet ATEX and IECEX standards for safety and regulatory compliance across global markets, including Europe, China, and North America. Key Responsibilities: As a Compliance Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing designs and verifying that products conform to ATEX and IECEX standards. Collaborate with internal experts to evaluate product designs against relevant compliance standards, explaining calculations, and ensuring safety requirements are met. Work closely with external bodies to facilitate product testing and certification, ensuring products are certified for market release across various regions, including Europe, China, and North America. You will influence design decisions, reviewing circuit designs, PCB layouts, and ensuring compliance with required creepage and clearance distances. As a Compliance Engineer, you will perform a detailed analysis of designs, and while not directly involved in creative design work, you will play a crucial role in shaping product safety. There will be an opportunity for on-the-job training in electronics and compliance standards for those willing to learn.Ideal Candidate: Some knowledge of ATEX and IECEX standards, or a strong willingness to develop expertise in these areas. Experience or understanding of electronics, circuits, and fundamental physics (e.g., Ohm's law). Analytical skills and attention to detail when reviewing designs and safety standards. A background in physics or a related field could be beneficial.
