We are looking for a Locum Principal Clinical Psychologist to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), at HMS Nelson DCMH, in Portsmouth, Hampshire.
Work pattern: Monday - Friday (37.5 hours)
The successful applicant will deliver an exceptional standard of care to the MoD service personnel and their families.
Pay Rate:
- Payee – £32.79 per hour
- Umbrella - ÂŁ37.32 per hour
Job description:
- To provide a high-quality specialist qualified Clinical/Counselling psychology service as an autonomous and independent practitioner within the defined service sector.
- To provide a specialist psychological assessment and therapy service, demonstrating clinical leadership, offering advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues.
- To maintain the highest standards of record keeping including electronic data entry and recording, report writing, activity returns and professional self-governance via supervision and continuous professional development.
- To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development within the defined service sector.
- To work with a range of professional groups within a multidisciplinary environment.
- The post holder will be primarily based as agreed with the Head of Service but will also be expected to see clients at other locations as appropriate.
Essential requirements/Qualifications/Experience:
- Must be eligible for Graduate Membership of the BPS.
- Must have Postgraduate doctoral level training in Clinical/Counselling psychology as accredited by the BPS.
- Must have HCPC registration under Practitioner Psychologist domain.
- Must have a minimum of two years post-qualification experience working as a Clinical/Counselling psychologist within the designated specialty (Adult Mental Health).
- Must be able to evidence having been permanently employed for a minimum of two years at a Principal grade.
- Must be able to evidence having carried out clinical research.
- Must have evidence of delivery of teaching and training.
- Must have evidence of having provided consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.
- Must be in date and able to provide certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to and including Level 3 training.
