Established in 2004, our client brings over 30 years of specialist expertise in jewellery repairs and restorations. Their diverse workload comes from elite trade customers, local private clients, and individuals making use of their nationwide postal repair service. As the business continues to grow, there is now a need to recruit an additional highly skilled jewellery-making expert.

Job Role

This role calls for wide-ranging craftsmanship across all aspects of jewellery repairs and production. Duties include:

  • Hand-making bespoke commissions
  • Melting and remodelling customers’ jewellery
  • Claw re-tipping or replacement
  • Frequent ring resizing and both diamond and gemstone setting

Proficiency in using a laser welder, along with polishing and rhodium plating, is essential.

Requirements

  • Ideally, the successful candidate will have at least five years’ experience as a bench jeweller, along with a minimum of three years’ experience in diamond setting and re-tipping.
  • Strong communication skills are needed to liaise effectively with both customers and sales staff.
  • Retail experience would be advantageous, though not essential.
  • A willingness to help less experienced jewellers develop their skills under your mentorship would be highly valued.
  • A team-oriented attitude, with a focus on achieving the best possible repair and production outcomes for clients.

Summary

This is a full-time role, working five days over seven—including Saturdays. The recruitment process will involve a practical, on-site bench test at the company’s Leeds city centre workshop.
