Coach team members on product knowledge so they can confidently assist customers with their purchasing decisions. Monitor individual and team performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and recognise top performers. Create a positive and inclusive team culture where every colleague feels valued and motivated to contribute their best work. Handle escalated customer enquiries and resolve issues in a way that reflects NEXT's commitment to service excellence. Support the store manager in planning daily shift rotas and ensuring adequate coverage across all opening hours. Drive sales results by implementing promotional activities and encouraging the team to meet weekly and monthly targets. Train new starters on store procedures, systems, and the company's approach to delivering a consistent customer experience. Collaborate with colleagues from other departments to ensure the store runs smoothly and stock levels are maintained. Take ownership of a specific area of the store and hold yourself and your team accountable for its presentation and performance.### RequirementsProven experience in a retail or customer-facing leadership role where you have managed a team of at least several people. Demonstrated ability to coach and develop others, with a track record of improving team performance over time. Strong understanding of retail sales principles and the ability to motivate a group to hit commercial targets. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the confidence to deliver feedback and hold difficult conversations. The ability to work a fixed schedule of 35 hours per week, including early mornings, late evenings, and Saturdays as outlined in the shift pattern. A positive and resilient attitude, with the capacity to stay composed and supportive during busy or demanding periods.### Nice to havePrevious experience working in a fashion or general merchandise retail environment, which would give you an understanding of the products and customers. Familiarity with retail management systems and point of sale technology, even if gained in a different retail setting. Organisational skills for planning shift rotas, training sessions, and daily store operations effectively.### Practical notesThe role requires working a 35 hour week across Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with shifts running from early morning through to late evening. Tuesday hours are 10:45 to 19:15, Wednesday is 08:45 to 17:15, Thursday is 08:45 to 17:00, Friday is 10:45 to 19:15, and Saturday is 14:30 to 18:30. The store is located on Bath Road in Slough, Berkshire, and the role is not remote.
