The Role: I am recruiting a Chartered Building Surveyor (Senior Building Surveyor) on behalf of Easton Bevins, a progressive and ambitious Property Consultancy. Easton Bevins has been established in Bristol for nearly 40 years, and their ongoing success and reputation for technical and service excellence has resulted in the opening of offices in London, Cardiff, Birmingham and Manchester. Working in the North Bristol office (BS32), alongside a team of 10 Surveyors, the Senior Building Surveyor will have the opportunity to mentor less experienced team members (Graduates/Interns), working for a wide variety of clients, assessing and providing technical advice on a diverse range of interesting projects (commercial, retail, high-rise developments, high-end residential, design specifications, refurbishments, fire remediation, cladding replacements, dilapidations, party wall and roofing projects etc.). There will also be the opportunity to get involved in Expert Witness work.
Easton Bevins are not a tick-box firm; their work requires independent thought and critical thinking, and the successful Senior Building Surveyor will enjoy the responsibility and autonomy to make a marked contribution to an expanding business, where your contribution is recognised and valued and where your career will progress accordingly.
The Person: The successful Chartered Building Surveyor (Senior Building Surveyor) will have experience of working on a range of building surveying projects and will have an aptitude for mentoring less experienced team members. They will be Chartered, ideally with 2+ years post APC experience. We will also consider candidates who are recently Chartered and demonstrate the right attributes for development, or candidates who are more experienced, with over 2 years APC experience and who have the client connections required to generate additional business.

We are happy to facilitate flexible working hours, but as you will be mentoring less experienced team members you will mainly work from the office or on-site, so you should live within a commuting distance of North Bristol (BS32).

They provide advice and support throughout the entire property lifecycle. A member of RICS, their vast experience in all areas of the property and construction industry ensures that their service is second to none.
Skills and Experience: Ideally Chartered with 2+ years post APC experience (MRICs or MCIOB, MEWI, MFPWS and/or MIfirE) or equivalent. Project Management skills with experience of working on a range of building surveying projects. A good understanding of construction technology, construction contracts and legislation. A strong relationship builder, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients and a commitment to providing a service that is second to none. A methodical completer/finisher, with great attention to detail, a creative approach to problem solving and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
