I am recruiting a Trainee Financial Adviser / Financial Planner on behalf of Altor Wealth Management, a highly regarded and ambitious Chartered Financial Planning firm, based in Hook (RG27). Working in a collaborative, fast paced and client focused team, you will support the Financial Planners with delivering an exceptional financial planning service to clients. This is a highly varied role where you will be involved in all areas of the business, working alongside and learning from highly experienced and qualified colleagues.
The Opportunity: This role provides exceptional career opportunities – the successful Trainee Financial Adviser / Financial Planner will receive the support required (financial and practical) to become Diploma qualified and, as your skills and experience develop, the opportunity to become a Chartered Financial Planner/ Financial Adviser. We are happy to consider candidates who have worked in a financial planning or financial advisory environment and are keen to progress into advising, or candidates who have worked in a professional services environment, who are keen to retrain and transition their skills and experience into the financial planning sector, keen to take exams and progress within the business.
The Person: The successful Trainee Financial Adviser / Financial Planner will be intelligent, keen to learn, aspirational, embracing of change, proactive, organised and detail orientated, with exceptional customer service skills. They will be articulate, emotionally intelligent, caring and have exceptional relationship building abilities and will be passionate about delivering an exceptional service and making a difference to peoples’ lives. They will also be keen to make a significant contribution to the growth of a progressive and ambitious firm while being invested in, valued and rewarded accordingly.
Salary and Benefits: £35,000-£55,000 (dependant on experience) + generous benefits package including 26 days holiday + bank holidays + company pension + private medical insurance (including dental) + income protection benefit + critical illness cover + free will writing + life insurance + financial support with exams, training and continued professional development. Responsibilities include:
- Support the Financial Planners with delivering an exceptional financial planning service to clients.
- Maintain and develop relationships with clients.
- Assist the Advisers with pre and post Financial Planning Meeting preparation, including researching clients’ existing arrangements, collating supporting documents, producing compliant illustrations and application forms, preparing advice letters etc., and completing all actions arising from meetings.
- Update clients’ cashflow and risk assessments on-line (Timeline, training provided).
- Fully utilise office technology to help streamline processes and enhance efficiencies.
- General financial planning support and client liaison as required.
Skills and experience required:
- 2 years + experience of working in a professional services environment, able to demonstrate a commitment to developing a career within the Financial Planning sector.
- Intelligent, ambitious, proactive, embracing of change and keen to learn.
- A strong relationship builder with exceptional interpersonal skills, tactful, trustworthy, diplomatic and emotionally intelligent.
- Professional appearance, confident manner and exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A proactive, team player who is also capable of working independently as required.
- Analytical, excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail, essential when working with substantial sums of money in a highly regulated environment.
- Caring, client focused and keen to make a difference to peoples’ lives.
- Strong technology (MS 365, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams etc.) and mathematical aptitude, embracing of emerging technologies.
- Aspirational, keen to learn and to contribute to the successful evolution of the business.
