The Role: I am recruiting a Financial Planning Administrator to join the team at Harwood Financial Planning, a progressive and ambitious independent Financial Planning firm based in Ulverston, Cumbria (LA12). Working in a small, collaborative and client focused team, the Financial Planning Administrator supports the Financial Planners, in delivering an exceptional financial planning service to clients. This is a highly varied and involved support role, where your contribution and input into business process improvements will be encouraged and valued.
The Person: The successful Financial Planning Administrator will be proactive, keen to learn and will demonstrate high levels of initiative. They will be a warm relationship builder who deeply cares about providing a customer service of the highest standard and who enjoys working in a fast-paced, client centric, collaborative team environment. They will also possess excellent administrative skills, being organised, detail orientated, and embracing of change. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a highly involved and responsible support capacity, ideally within a professional services environment, however they will not be expected to know the intricacies of financial planning as training and support will be provided.
Salary and Benefits: Basic salary £27-35,000 (dependant on experience) + bonus + pension + 25 days holiday + bank holidays + team events + flexible working etc.
Hybrid Working and Flexibility: We are happy to facilitate a degree of home working, subject to the needs of the business (up to 50% of the time). Ideally this is a full-time role, but we are also happy to consider flexible or part-time working arrangements for the right candidate (shorter working days, 4-day week etc.).

Financial Planning Administrator, Responsibilities:
- Provide the administrative assistance involved in delivering financial planning services to clients.
- Develop relationships with clients, arranging and preparing for initial and review meetings and following up on action points arising.
- Coordinate the Financial Planners’ activities and correspondence, organising and prioritising workflow accordingly.
- Liaise with product providers and other third parties as necessary, handling letters of authority, obtaining policy information, analysing provider responses to verify the accuracy and completeness of information received and updating records accordingly.
- Process new and existing business applications and make investment switches.
- Assist the Financial Planners with the creation of suitability letters and reports.
- Record and maintain accurate data using the company’s back-office system.
- General administration as required to support the business including filing, updating spreadsheets, actioning post, answering the telephone etc.
- Ensure all business is conducted in a responsible and compliant manner.
Financial Planning Assistant, skills required:
- Experience of working in a highly involved and responsible support role, with an enthusiasm to learn the intricacies of financial planning.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach, commercially astute with a high level of initiative and common sense.
- The ability to understand, anticipate, follow and monitor complex workflow processes.
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, skilled in writing high quality, professional correspondence.
- Intelligent with high levels of numeracy and IT literacy, embracing of new technologies and adaptable to change.
- A strong relationship builder and excellent team player, with a caring and client centric approach.
