The Role: I am recruiting a Chartered Building Surveyor to join the team at Easton Bevins, a progressive and ambitious Property Consultancy. Easton Bevins has been established in Bristol for nearly 40 years, and their on-going success and reputation for technical and service excellence has resulted in the opening of offices in London, Cardiff, Birmingham and Manchester. This Chartered Building Surveyor role provides an opportunity to join the small and expanding central London office (WC1R), working for a wide variety of clients (including several large management companies), assessing and providing technical advice on a wide range of projects (refurbishments, high-rise developments, roofing projects etc.), in and around central London. Easton Bevins are not a ‘tick-box’ firm, their work requires independent thought and critical thinking, and the successful Building Surveyor will enjoy the responsibility and autonomy to make a marked contribution to the success of the business. As the London team expands your contribution will be recognised and you will be rewarded with on-going career development and the opportunity to progress into management.
The Person: The successful Building Surveyor will have experience of working on a range building surveying projects, including contracts, JCTs, fire safety/fire risk assessments etc. They will ideally be Chartered with 2+ years post APC experience. We will however consider candidates who are close to becoming Chartered and demonstrate the right attributes for development, or candidates with more experience who have the client connections required to generate additional business. The salary offered and the benefits package will be highly competitive and will reflect your level of experience.
Salary and Benefits (dependent on skills and experience): Basic salary £50,000 - £75,000 (dependant on experience) + uncapped bonus (25% of all fees above 2.75 salary target) + additional discretionary bonus + continued professional development and professional memberships + NHS cash-plan + private healthcare scheme + company pension + 23-26 days holiday + bank holidays + company events + flexible/hybrid working etc. (you will have the autonomy to manage your own diary, but it is likely that you will be in the office c.1 day per week, and on client sites, in and around central London, c.3 days a week).

Chartered Building Surveyor, Skills and Experience:
- Ideally Chartered with 2+ years post APC experience (MRICs or MCIOB, MEWI, MFPWS and/or MIfirE) or equivalent. We will consider candidates who are close to becoming Chartered or candidates with more experience and a higher level of seniority.
- Project management skills with experience of working on a range building surveying projects, including contracts, JCTs, fire safety/fire risk assessments etc. and excellent commercial awareness.
- A good understanding of construction technology, construction contracts and legislation.
- A strong relationship builder, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients and a commitment to providing a service that is second to none.
- A methodical approach, with great attention to detail, a creative approach to problem solving and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, numerically adept and analytical.
- A collaborative team player, with the ability to work proactively and independently.
- Resilient, dependable and determined.
- A full UK Driving License.
